Minnesota Timberwolves: Player grades for first quarter of the season
By Trey Flynn
Karl-Anthony Towns — Player Grade A
Karl-Anthony Towns has to be one of the more criticized players of all time that averages Hall of Fame numbers, it’s really hard to fathom what people realistically expect out of a 22-year-old.
Not everyone is LeBron James at that age.
Towns is currently averaging 20.6 PPG with shooting splits of 49 percent from the field and 40 percent from downtown, and the double-double to top it off with 12 TRB.
Out of all the big men you could want around the league, Towns’ has to be one of the top-five guys you choose.
And while the leadership aspect seems to be lacking from the 22-year-old, please just remember what you were doing at 22 years of age, and re-think your thoughts about Towns. Yes, he does make million of dollars to play a sport, but give him time.
Essentially, I’m tired of the cries point toward Towns not doing enough. He’s an A player that is talked about like a B player, which needs to stop.
Overall, these grades for the Timberwolves’ are just for a quarter of the regular season and can change for the better.
However, something should be said that I gave Derrick Rose an A+, the Wolves’ still have work to do and keep this winning streak going.
