A Terrence Ross trade to the Orlando Magic would make the Wolves bench become twice as exciting.
Terrence Ross is having the best season of his career, and I think it’s time for Minnesota to buy Ross at any cost.
I didn’t add Tyus Jones to this deal, but I’m not unwilling to.
The 27-year-old wing is playing 25.7 MPG while averaging 14.4 PPG with shooting splits of 45.9/39.9/85.0.
The potential to add Ross as a sixth man would put undoubtedly push Minnesota over the hump as a top-eight team in the western conference. This is my favorite trade and also allows Orlando to full on tank this season, even though they are having a relatively impressive season compared to the past few years.
Orlando is close to becoming a playoff team again, but is it worth it right now? One more top-five pick could push the likes of Aaron Gordon, Jonathan Issac, and Mo Bamba to the next level.
Ross is likely to stay with the Magic for the next two years, and you could expect that to happen with Minnesota as well. What Ross lacks on defense, he makes up for with his outstanding offensive production and – for the first time in his career – his amazing efficient play.
Orlando does take a huge contract with Gorgui Dieng as well as a couple future seconds, but they cement their tank and hope for the chance at Duke-star Zion Williamson.
