Teams have forgotten about Courtney Lee, but the Wolves should take another look.

33-year-old Courtney Lee just recently recovered from his long injury and has been rumored to want out of a New York Knicks jersey. Especially because they don’t seem like they will be a playoff team anytime soon.

Moreover, the odds of Kevin Durant or Kyrie Irving deciding to take their talents to Madison Square Garden is extremely unlikely and the best case scenario from this season would be the Knicks grabbing a top-five draft pick.

And while Courtney Lee is essentially a poor mans version of Terrence Ross at the moment, he’s still a nice find for a backup unit in Minnesota that desperately needs consistent shooting.

In his career, Lee has averaged 45 percent from the field and 38 percent from downtown. In fact, this past season, Lee averaged 12.0 PPG with shooting splits of 45.4/40.6/91.9.

Lee is obviously not far off from those numbers and they illustrate his potential impact on any team around the league, so I think he’s still a steal at his current state.

He won’t be a free agent until 2020, so paying Lee $12 million this season and next isn’t exactly ideal, but its well worth it when you are trying to continue a playoff tradition in Minnesota.

Our last trade will be for one of the more sought after assets around the league.
