Minnesota Timberwolves’ player grades against the Charlotte Hornets

The Minnesota Timberwolves blew out the Charlotte Hornets 121-104 in a satisfying home win.

In a game where the Wolves only led by 4 points going into the fourth quarter, they still came out with a 17 point win against the beat-up Hornets. In the fourth quarter, the Hornets were held to 18 points and allowed 35 points to the Wolves’ Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins.

KAT and Wiggs totaled 61 points, shooting 61.5 percent from the field – which is objectively one of the greatest games of both of their careers. Not to mention that the two leading scorers on the Hornets were Nic Batum and Jeremy Lamb, which obviously isn’t a good idea when they shoot 13/35 shots (37.1 percent).

The obvious guy missing was All-Star Kemba Walker, who was actually playing but looked invisible. He couldn’t get anything going and easy baskets weren’t coming to him because guys like KAT had 6 blocks at the rim.

As for player grades in wins, lets start top to bottom:

Karl-Anthony Towns: A+

If you’ve been wondering where Karl-Anthony Towns’ has been, apparently he’s been hibernating and waiting to player Cody Zeller to blow him up and end his career.

KAT lead the wolf pack and finished this win against the Hornets with 35 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, and 6 blocks. Not to mention Towns’ shooting 65.0 percent from the field and 80.0 percent from downtown.

I wonder if Cody Zeller and Frank Kaminsky have nightmares about Towns? It’s probably the first time anyone has nightmares about anyone named “Karl.”

Andrew Wiggins: A

I had to shout Andrew Wiggins out for his insane performance and dunk against the Hornets, see below:

If Andrew Wiggins played like this once a week, I think we could all sleep soundly at night with his enormous contract.

Wiggs finished this game with 26 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 1 block. He also ended the night shooting 57.9 percent from the field and 60.0 percent from downtown.

Jeff Teague: B??????

While I’m totally happy for Jeff Teague facilitating one of the best games in his career with 18 assists, some of his numbers just feel SO empty.

However, we should shout him out for those type of numbers passing the ball with only 3 turnovers (and only 3 points).

Next. 3 things to watch for vs. the Sacramento Kings. dark

There is a strong possibility that Jeff Teague is watching too much Tyus Jones at practice, because Towns and Wiggins can’t play like this every game and the Wolves’ will need Teague to play more of a scoring role very soon.

In conclusion, the Wolves’ finished these 3 games witha  2-1 record and I will have our next three game player grades coming after the game tonight against the Sacramento Kings.

Tune in tomorrow!
