Minnesota Timberwolves: T-Wolves Gaming reveals its logo
By TJ Bain
We’re getting closer to opening day for the new T-Wolves Gaming squad, and the Minnesota Timberwolves’ own 2K team has released their official logo.
The Minnesota Timberwolves professional e-sports team, T-Wolves Gaming, recently revealed their brand new logo.
Interestingly, the new logo almost appears to be a mix of the Timberwolves and Lynx logo. The WNBA’s Minnesota Lynx is, of course, one of the most successful franchises in their league with four titles since 2011.
It’s a wonderful tribute to basketball in the Twin Cities that the T-Wolves gaming logo would represent both the Wolves and the Lynx, as you’ll see below.
The logo was designed by Rodney Richardson of RARE Design, who was also responsible for the Timberwolves’ logo redesign that took place prior to the 2017-18 season. He spoke about the inspiration behind the T-Wolves Gaming design.
T-Wolves Gaming is one of the newer additions to the 2K League. The NBA 2K League started in early 2017 and has quickly been a massive success. After the inaugural season was over, four more teams were added to the league making a total of 21 teams, including T-Wolves Gaming.
The season begins in April 2019. With two players on the roster, the team will have to add 3 more making a total of 5 players per team. The two players already on the roster are Brandon Caicedo (Hood) and Mihad Feratovic (iFEAST). Hood and iFEAST are two of the best players in the 2k league; if you’ve watched them play on Twitch than you know just how good they are.
Recently, T-Wolves Gaming decided to step up the level of dedication to their 2k team as they revealed a brand new state of the art training facility. One of the first of its kind this facility will act as a gaming studio and business office.
The facility will be located on the second floor of Mayo Clinic Square in the space formerly known as the Experience Center. Its beautifully designed and will bring even more attention to the Timberwolves and Lynx franchise.
Here’s the statement, in part, from Timberwolves and Lynx CEO Ethan Casson:
"“Today is an exciting day for our T-Wolves Gaming franchise as we unveil our team identity and plans to create a best-in-class training facility for our players,” said Timberwolves and Lynx Chief Executive Officer Ethan Casson. “This unique training center will provide a home for our players where they can come together as a team and practice, strategize and prepare for their games. We are excited about the concept being in such a prominent location in our skyway where the exposure on a daily basis will be very high. We see this as an opportunity to build a home for T-Wolves Gaming while, at the same time, building brand awareness and expanding the Courts campus at Mayo Clinic Square.”"
T-Wolves Gaming will be one of the best 2K League teams and as fans, we get a chance to show the basketball world who the best fans are.
