Trade No. 8 – New Orleans Pelicans

The Minnesota Timberwolves trade Andrew Wiggins to the New Orleans Pelicans, in return for everyone’s favorite swingmen (expect Bobby Portis) Nikola Mirotic and revived E’Twaun Moore.

This move is made to try and make a push for the playoffs for both teams. The Pelicans need a young stud to build next to Anthony Davis, and Jrue Holiday isn’t going to cut it by himself. A fun big-four in Davis, Holiday, Julius Randle, and Wiggs makes for a futuristic lineup.

As for Minnesota, they get a new starting lineup:

  • PG, Jeff Teague
  • SG, E’Twaun Moore
  • SF, Robert Covington
  • PF, Nikola Mirotic
  • C, Karl-Anthony Towns

Obviously, this lineup could change up quite a bit, but it gives Minnesota some much-needed depth and cap relief (I know, I sound like a broken record), but the move helps tremendously in all of those facets.

Overall, New Orleans needs to make one of two moves, they need to trade Davis for a huge package or they need to add more assets to Davis to make this team a serious threat.

The next move includes a team that is just dying for more star power besides their 45-year-old veterans Mike Conley Jr. and Marc Gasol.
