Now that the Minnesota Timberwolves are rapidly fading from the playoff picture, it’s time to turn the page and begin looking at March Madness.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are nearing mathematical elimination from the playoff race and the tank is officially on.

Now is the perfect time to look towards the future with excitement and optimism. The Timberwolves still have many young promising players and will look to add at least one more with a lottery pick this summer. Thanks to changes made to the 2019 NBA draft lottery, the Timberwolves may have a decent shot at the top-four pick if fortune favors them for the first time in team history. The future is still bright and there is plenty of exciting basketball to watch in the short-term.

For many basketball fans, there is one time of year that eclipses all others: March Madness. The NCAA Tournament showcases the top 68 teams in college basketball and delights viewers with jaw-dropping buzzer-beaters and historic upsets. Every team will have aspirations of reaching the Final Four, which will be played in Minneapolis for the fourth time in tournament history. The national championship at US Bank Stadium, home of the Minnesota Vikings, is sure to be a spectacle for Minnesotans and college basketball fandom alike.

The state of Minnesota anxiously awaits the Golden Gophers’ opening game of the tournament on Thursday against Louisville but that is far from the only game worth watching. This wonderful time of year offers an early glimpse at the young faces set to become the future of the NBA.

Today, we explore 10 prospects to watch during March Madness who could see themselves donning a Timberwolves’ jersey later this year.
