The 2018-19 season has been a year of disappointment for the Minnesota Timberwolves’ franchise. Fortunately, there are still a few ways for Wolves fans to get excited during the final handful of games.

The past year for the Minnesota Timberwolves and their fans has been a roller coaster ride of emotions.

The excitement of Game 82, the joy of the team’s first playoff win in over a decade, the optimism of a competitive future. And then, the embarrassment of the Jimmy Butler fiasco and the confusion of the Tom Thibodeau firing after a blowout victory.

Few teams are in the same stratosphere as the Minnesota Timberwolves in terms of drama.

The 2018-19 season will be marked as a disappointment by the majority of Wolves’ nation. A year of playoff aspirations was quickly derailed by locker room turmoil and injuries. The team managed to tread water for months but now there is sadly little to play for with the team mathematically eliminated from the playoffs.

However, there is still reason for players and fans alike to cherish the final few games before entering a grueling stretch of five months without Timberwolves basketball.

The Wolves are still searching for their identity, and the next two weeks could be a vital factor when determining the franchise’s direction this summer. Exciting young players such as Josh Okogie and Keita Bates-Diop are making the most of increased playing time and interim head coach Ryan Saunders is trying to prove himself to the team as a long term answer.

The final few games also provide the opportunity for memorable highlights that fans can enjoy before a long summer without professional basketball on television.

So, as the season comes to a close, let’s take a look at five ways for Minnesota to end a tumultuous season on a fun and positive note.
