Nassir Little
A former McDonald’s All-American and the No.2 player in the class of 2018, Nassir Little underwhelmed in his only season at North Carolina. He averaged only 9.8 points and 4.6 rebounds. He often found himself buried in the lineup behind upperclassman due to minor injuries, illnesses, and overall inconsistency.
However, there is still a significant reason to be optimistic about when looking at Nassir Little. He has the body type and shows the potential to be the epitome of the highly-coveted “3-and-D” player so many teams covet.
At 6’6″ with a 7’1″ wingspan, Little has the ideal body to be a switchable, versatile defender while also being able to play nearly any position offensively. He would be the perfect defender next to Karl-Anthony Towns, as he has a strong base to defend players down low, long arms to block shots, and the aforementioned versatility to defend multiple positions.
He struggled as a spot-up shooter this past season, and also struggles defending off-ball, sometimes losing his man and getting caught out of position. However, Little was a late bloomer in high school and has shown enough potential to suggest he still has some blossoming left to occur.
If this proves to be correct, Little could develop into the perfect young star to pair with Karl-Anthony Towns, the player the Timberwolves have for so long hoped Andrew Wiggins would become.
Little is the ultimate low-floor, high-ceiling player who is absolutely worth the gamble for a team with a pick in the teens like the Minnesota Timberwolves.
