1. San Antonio Spurs

This particular trade may be more of a long shot. However, per Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders, the Spurs continue to be talked about as, “open to ideas”.

With the Western Conference becoming more competitive than ever, a team centered around DeMar DeRozan, LaMarcus Aldridge, and a handful of young players still in development does not seem to move the needle for San Antonio, from an outside perspective.

Being infamous for its player development and led by one of the greatest basketball coaches of all time in Gregg Popovich, the San Antonio Spurs may trust in the stability of their system and be willing to take a gamble on a prospect with such a high potential ceiling as Andrew Wiggins.

However, in doing so, it would come at a price. The Minnesota Timberwolves would likely have to attach multiple draft picks to the trade to acquire DeRozan and rid of Wiggins’ substantial contract. Even then, it still may not be enough.

However, the idea of pairing Karl-Anthony Towns with an All-Star-caliber player such as DeRozan is an incredibly intriguing idea that would inevitably raise the ceiling of the Timberwolves and would elevate them to immediate playoff contention.
