Minnesota Timberwolves: 4 players for Wolves to consider drafting at No. 11
By Ben Beecken
Nassir Little, F, North Carolina
Nassir Little is yet another polarizing prospect, although for largely differing reasons than Clarke.
Little was a big-time college recruit but had an underwhelming season at the University of North Carolina, shooting 48 percent from the field but just 26.9 percent from beyond the 3-point line.
Little averaged only 9.8 points and 4.6 rebounds per game with little to write home about statistically on the defensive end of the floor, either, but his impressive athleticism and size are NBA-ready and impossible to ignore.
The upside carried by Little remains sky-high, and there are multiple reports out there regarding just how strong his pre-draft workouts have been. Little has reportedly shot the ball extremely well in the gym for his potential future employers, and that is likely the main skill that teams want to feel better about moving forward.
Little’s fit with the Wolves would be a bit more tenuous than the likes of Doumbouya and Clarke, as Little’s positional flexibility isn’t quite as impressive. That said, the upside is certainly higher than the 23-year-old Clarke’s, but it’s unclear if new front office boss Gersson Rosas will be keen on adding another project on top of continuing to wait for Andrew Wiggins and helping along second-year wing Josh Okogie.
Little is unlikely to go earlier than Minnesota, although it’s certainly possible that a team falls in love with the potential and trades up to jump in front of the Wolves. Of the four players on this list, however, I would rank Little as the fourth-most likely player that the Timberwolves would end up drafting.
