3. Playmaking

Culver is going to help facilitate Ryan Saunders’ offense from all over the floor next season. Culver is tremendous as a ball handler in the pick and roll, which will help him build a strong rapport with KAT off from day one.

Culver sees the floor phenomenally well at the pick-and-roll ball handler and is effective at deciding when to keep the ball coming off screens and when to get rid of it. Additionally, Jarrett is a great playmaker on straight-line drives into the lane, which should also help create more open shots on the weak side for Robert Covington and Andrew Wiggins from behind the arc.

At Texas Tech, Culver averaged 3.7 assists per game, which was third second among all players on my 2019 Big Board.

What is more telling, however, is that Culver’s accounted for 26.1 percent of his team’s assists when he was on the floor, which is the best of any player on my Big Board and trails only Ja Morant (at a ridiculous 51.8 percent) among all projected first-round picks.
