Minnesota Timberwolves fans are no strangers to heartbreaking moments, and the past calendar year has provided many moments to add to the list.

This past year has been a rollercoaster ride for the Minnesota Timberwolves.

With the hiring of Gersson Rosas as President of Basketball Operations, Wolves fans felt free from the agony that was the Tom Thibodeau era in Minnesota. Hope started to set in for the organization and people began to be excited.

Rumors swirled about D’Aneglo Russell having interest in joining his pal Karl-Anthony Towns in Minnesota. After those dreams came and went this summer fans prepared themselves for another disappointing season, but with hope that it would better the future of the franchise.

Then the Wolves started out firing winning their first three games and eventually reaching a respectable 7-4 record through 11 games. Playoff hopes began to creep into Minnesota fans’ minds.

Then reality set in and the Timberwolves found themselves on an 11-game losing streak and sitting 12th in the Western Conference Standings with a 12-20 record. Fans find themselves devastated yet again, but are reminded that this year was not supposed to include a run to the playoffs. This season was for implementing a new system and building a culture.

With all of the ups and downs of this past year, Wolves fans have had many chances to get their hearts broken. Let’s indulge our sorrows and take a look at the 7 most heartbreaking moments of 2019.
