Minnesota Timberwolves: 3 intriguing trade targets
By Andrew Ites
Malik Beasley
The Denver Nuggets have one of the deepest rotations in the NBA, which means a few of their players aren’t getting the type of minutes they deserve and need a change of scenery to gain a bigger role.
Malik Beasley is one of those players who’d be getting 25-30 minutes per game on nearly every other team in the league, but he’s only getting 16 minutes per night this year in Denver.
The former Florida State Seminole played 23.2 minutes per game for the Nuggets last season where he scored 11.3 points per contest with 2.5 rebounds and 0.7 steals while shooting over 40% from three-point range.
This year, Denver is trying to get Michael Porter Jr. in the rotation which has taken some valuable playing time away from Beasley.
Beasley is not shooting well on two-pointers this season, but he’s still shooting around 40% from deep on a decent volume and he’s an extremely athletic player who brings energy on the defensive end every time he hits the floor.
Beasley just turned 23 years old, which puts him on the same timeline as Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins, and the Timberwolves have been in the business of stockpiling useful wings ever since Gersson Rosas took over as the President of Basketball Operations.
Since Denver doesn’t really have a consistent role for Beasley right now, it might not take much to pry him away in a trade.
