4. Juancho Hernangomez

Juan Hernangomez struggled to find consistent playing time and success while a part of the Denver Nuggets.

Rosas saw something his liked in Juancho and took a flyer on him for the rest of this season before he is set to hit restricted free agency. Whatever Rosas saw in Hernangomez has come to fruition since arriving in Minnesota.

With an increased role, Hernangomez is putting up solid numbers of 12.9 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 1.3 assists, all career-highs. His shooting numbers have seen a resurgence as well, connecting on 42 percent of his 4.9 3-point attempts and 45.3 percent of his 9.8 field goal attempts per game, both career-highs as well.

To prove that these numbers are not just inflated because of the increase in minutes, we can look and see that his per-36-minute stats with the Wolves are the best of his career in points, rebounds, and assists.

This uptick in production certainly has to do with increased confidence since coming over. Put simply, he knows that the starting power forward job is his to lose, and he can play free and easy. Hernangomez has found himself in some really nice rhythms for the Wolves, something he seemingly could not get going in Denver, likely due to the lack of playing time and tenuous spot in their rotation.

With a new contract coming this summer in restricted free agency, Juancho is proving his worth to teams around the league. Hopefully, Minnesota can afford to match whatever he’s offered and bring him back to contribute in a solid role next season.
