The regular season may not resume once the NBA hiatus is over, which means we’ve seen that we may have seen the last of some players in a Minnesota Timberwolves uniform.
The 2019-20 NBA season has come to a halt and whether the league decides to resume the regular season is still up in the air. If the regular season ends, with or without playoffs, there are potentially some players that have played their last game in a Minnesota Timberwolves uniform.
Of course, there are also some players who have definitively played their last game without even logging a minute.
The first name that comes to mind that we won’t talk about here is Evan Turner. The Wolves and Turner have been working on a buyout for some time now, but with the season up in the air and the playoff eligibility deadline passed for bought-out players, it’s unlikely that the two sides will come to a solution prior to the end of the league year.
Omari Spellman is another name that comes to mind. While he hasn’t played for the Timberwolves, he has been logging time with the G League affiliate, the Iowa Wolves.
What direction the Wolves go in the offseason is a big question mark, since a lot of the players on the roster were recently acquired and there wasn’t truly a lot of time to decipher how they would fit long-term with the team.
Additionally, Gersson Rosas isn’t shy on making moves, so anything seems to be on the table beyond losing D’Angelo Russell and Karl-Anthony Towns.
The Wolves would like to retain Malik Beasley and Juan Hernangomez, both whom are restricted free agents at the end of the season. If the price is right, both should be back with a new deal after having been acquired at the trade deadline.
With that in mind, let’s take a look at three players that have likely played their last game in a Timberwolves uniform.
