3. Jarrett Culver

This one could be a stretch because of the potential Jarrett Culver still possesses. He was the team’s first-round pick just last summer, after all.

However, it shouldn’t be out of the question to look at all options heading in the 2020-21 season.

Minnesota should be working towards long-term success and Culver may still fit that mold, but if he doesn’t hit that ceiling, then his value will only continue to drop. There’s still a lot of question marks about his game, mostly hinging on his offensive ability and shooting efficiency.

For the most part, Culver has done well defensively as far as rookies go, there has been flashes of being a potential two-way player. With another offseason and more time under his belt, the defensive part should come naturally for him.

Offensively, Culver has not performed like many had hoped for from the No. 6 overall pick. On the season, he’s shooting just 40.4 percent from the field, 29.9 percent from 3-point range, and an unsightly 46.2 percent from the free throw line.

However, in 11 games following the All-Star break, the former Texas Tech product turned his season around. Since that time, he shot 49.4 percent from the field and 42.4 percent from beyond the arc. His efficiency improved and he looked more comfortable on the court.

One issue that is a major red flag has been his aforementioned inability to make free throws. That should improve going into next season as he shot 70.7 percent from the charity stripe in his sophomore season at Texas Tech.

Culver still has value in a trade package, and Minnesota could look to dealing him in a bigger deal, maybe even something with one of the team’s two first round picks in the upcoming draft. The Wolves don’t have a ton of tradeable assets, and Culver likely tops the list in terms of trade value among available players.
