The Minnesota Timberwolves have a very top-heavy roster. There’s Karl-Anthony Towns, D’Angelo Russell, and then everyone else. But finding talent on the roster that have relatively cheap contracts is always a blessing.

This coming offseason, Malik Beasley is going to command a sizable amount of money. Juancho Hernangomez also is a pending restricted free agent, and the Wolves have yet to sign Jordan McLaughlin to a long-term contract.

Finding talent through free agency, especially for mid-market teams, could be challenging, especially for a team fighting for a playoff spot. Veterans taking less to be on a competitive team, finding long-term “project” players, or retaining your current players on smaller deals can all be extremely difficult.

While trading for another star to compliment both Russell and Towns remains the most favorable option, the players highlighted here may be included in order to achieve that goal.

Affordable contracts, especially for core players, is always going to help competitive teams. The Timberwolves have a group of wings/forwards that help the team on both ends of the floors. These players are going to help the team push for a playoff spot in 2021 and beyond.

Here are the three best contracts on the Minnesota Timberwolves.
