More Easy Decisions

Jarrett Culver

Jarrett Culver is a young player that dramatically improved throughout the 2019-20 season. He is absolutely worth betting on becoming a better basketball player in the future, despite his shooting woes. Culver is another player that should be protected, simply because of his raw potential. He carries a decently large cap hit, but Culver is worth keeping on the roster long-term.

Verdict: Protected (three of eight)

Josh Okogie

Josh Okogie is the best defender on the Timberwolves. He is capable of guarding most wings and guards with relative ease. Okogie has shooting concerns, but his defensive capabilities make him worth keeping past 2020-21. He, like Culver, has tons of upside worth betting on in the future. Okogie is athletic and fluid in transition and should be protected in an expansion draft by the Timberwolves.

Verdict: Protected (four of eight)

Malik Beasley

Malik Beasley showed incredible scoring this past season for the Timberwolves. He proved that, in an expanded role, he is worth keeping long-term. Beasley, despite being a restricted free agent that will undoubtedly cost a lot of money this offseason, should at least be protected, as he could either start for the Timberwolves in 2020-21 or potentially be the first player off of the bench.

Verdict: Protected (five of eight)
