It feels like a good time to look back in time on Minnesota Timberwolves Twitter.

Normally, Las Vegas Summer League would be underway and we’d all be cheering for the Minnesota Timberwolves entry of draft picks, undrafted rookies, and journeymen.

Instead, we’re debating the virtues of both the 22-team Orlando-based NBA bubble and the potential for an eight-team bubble in Chicago that would include the Wolves.

That means that it’s as good as time as any to take a spin around Wolves Twitter and the variety of throwback posts that have hit the Twittersphere over the past couple of days.

Minnesota Timberwolves Roundup: Looking back on Wolves Twitter

Bleacher Report has spent the holiday weekend looking back at random NBA team moments. Their peek back at the Wolves season was one of the post-trade-deadline highlights for Wolves fans.

Good times. This stands as the best defensive play of the season for the Wolves, and a look at what a dedicated and motivated D’Angelo Russell could potentially do on the defensive end of the floor.

The Minnesota Timberwolves official Twitter account reminded everyone on Sunday that exactly one year ago, it was announced that undrafted LSU big man Naz Reid was signed to a two-way deal.

Of course, Reid’s performance at Las Vegas Summer League earned him a three-year, partially-guaranteed deal and the Wolves instead signed fellow Vegas standout Jordan McLaughlin to a two-way contract, along with wing Kelan Martin.

Reid figures to be one of the Wolves’ primary backup big men this year and could prove to be a bargain if he can hold his own defensively and on the glass while keeping an above-average 3-point percentage.

The Wolves official Twitter also reminded us all that Sunday should have been the start of this year’s edition of Summer League.

Instead of sending three draft picks and some undrafted gems like Reid and McLaughlin to Vegas, the Wolves are still in the middle of their draft preparation; the draft lottery is upcoming in late August with the draft itself in October.

Alas, we’re still something like five months away from a regular-season Minnesota Timberwolves game, but at least there is now that chance of some scrimmages in Chicago come September.

Next. Should the Wolves draft LaMelo Ball or Anthony Edwards?. dark

Chin up, Wolves fans. At least there will be some basketball in Orlando in a matter of weeks…
