Scouting Report. Devin Vassell. 11. player. 29. Pick Analysis. Wing. FSU

The San Antonio Spurs are facing the pending free agency of franchise wing DeMar DeRozan. While he has been good for the Spurs during the past two seasons, they may look in another direction when it comes to long-term options. Devin Vassell, should he fall this far in the draft, should be a no-brainer.

Vassell, a two-way wing from a top college program, makes too much sense for a Spurs team that needs players that can perform on both ends of the court. He is a great shooter and incredible perimeter defender. While he may never be a star, Vassell has shown flashes of being able to create his own shot off the dribble as well as playmake (albeit minimally).

Vassell could be inserted into the starting lineup as soon as the season started for the Spurs. Playing alongside players such as Dejonte Murray, Lonnie Walker, and LeMarcus Aldridge would help his development as well.
