The New Orleans Pelicans need to find floor spacers. While they do already have JJ Redick, he is on the down side of his career and has an expiring contract. None of Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, or Zion Williamson are particularly good shooters, so adding a player such as Aaron Nesmith would do nothing but benefit the team.

Aaron Nesmith is the best shooter in this draft class. In his sophomore season at Vanderbilt, he hit 52-percent of his outside shots on more than eight attempts per game. That is both incredible efficiency and volume. Bringing in a player that is able to hit shots from beyond the three-point line is of essence in today’s NBA.

Nesmith is not just a good shooter, either. He was a plus defender as well and was able to create his own shot off-the-ball. He could create space instantly in a manner similar to that of Klay Thompson. Whole Nesmith will never likely be the sort of caliber of player Thompson is, there are many similarities between the two and he should be the pick if New Orleans is on the clock.
