Pick Analysis. Guard. UNC. 6. player. 64. Scouting Report. Cole Anthony

The Pistons need a long-term lead guard after the departure of Reggie Jackson. The team has numerous complimentary basketball players in place already with Luke Kennard, Sekou Doumbouya, and Christian Wood (should he actually re-sign with the Pistons). Cole Anthony could be an elite player at the NBA level.

After having his stock fall slightly due to a somewhat inconsistent season at North Carolina, Anthony lands in a gloomy situation in Detroit. Being an elite shooter and athlete, Anthony brings two traits that could very well make him a steal in this draft. His position was horrid in college, being surrounded by awful players with little to no floor spacing. There are some knocks on Anthony’s playmaking, despite him showing many flashes post-injury this past season.

Cole Anthony was the projected number one pick in the pre-season. He has elite skills such as shooting, athleticism, and rebounding. While he doesn’t have many fans, he could walk away from this draft being the best player — and that is a risk you have to take. Anthony could be a star, and a really, really good one.
