Minnesota Timberwolves wing Josh Okogie recently spoke on a podcast. Plus, where the Wolves landed in some recent power rankings.

As the NBA’s Orlando bubble continues with games just over two weeks away, there remains a smattering of Minnesota Timberwolves news.

Josh Okogie has stayed active this offseason and has made a bit of a mini-media tour, so we’ll check in on his most recent appearance. Plus, folks are still putting out power rankings. Where do the Wolves fall in comparison to the other non-Orlando teams?

Minnesota Timberwolves Roundup: Okogie on podcast, power rankings

This weekend, Josh Okogie appeared on The Tidal League podcast. He covered a variety of topics, including an interesting conversation on the differences between living in Nigeria, going to school in Atlanta, and playing professional basketball in Minneapolis.

Okogie also touches on his offseason and what he’s been up to while working to improve his game.

Elsewhere, the past few weeks have brought about some revised NBA power rankings.

Not all of them have included the non-Orlando, or “Delete Eight” teams. That includes ESPN, which wants to pretend as though the Minnesota Timberwolves simply don’t exist anymore. (Not really, but it’s more fun to declare as though that’s the case.)

The NBA.com power rankings were last updated in early June, which is interesting because it was before we knew any details about a potential re-start to the season. Now would seem to be a good time to revisit those, but oh well.

The Wolves landed No. 25 in the rankings done by John Schuhmann at NBA.com, directly behind the Suns, Wizards, Bulls, and Hawks but ahead of the Pistons, Knicks, Hornets, Cavaliers, and Warriors.

It’s hard to argue too much with that ranking. In fact, The Athletic’s Zach Harper released some power rankings of his own (subscription required) less than a couple of weeks ago and had the Wolves at No. 24, with the Atlanta Hawks as the lone team sliding below Minnesota when compared to NBA.com’s rankings.

Harper calls out Malik Beasley‘s impressive play in 14 games in a Timberwolves uniform, which we’ve documented quite thoroughly here at Dunking With Wolves.

As we draw closer to the start of play in Orlando, we’ll keep a pulse on the league as a whole, as well as continuing to monitor and analyze any Wolves news that crops up.
