Minnesota Timberwolves: NBA Draft Big Board 2.0
Players 51-55
51. Tre Jones, Guard, Duke
52. Theo Maledon, Guard, France
53. Jay Scrubb, Wing, USA
54. Saben Lee, Guard, Vanderbilt
55. Mamadi Diakite, Forward/Big, Virginia
Theo Maledon was superbly disappointing this past season. He wasn’t really a consistent shooter, didn’t provide much defensively, and only had a 3-2 assist-turnover ratio. Maledon didn’t show much athleticism and really struggled in the EuroLeague. If the athleticism and scoring is not present along with a lack of high-level court vision, I’m not sure what Maledon is bringing if he is not a good defender either.
Saben Lee is one of the more underrated players in this draft class. He can score off the dribble, has lots of athleticism, and has proven that he is one of the best finishers in this draft class due to his great contact balance at the rim.
Mamadi Diakite could be a rotational forward/big at the next level simply due to his above-average defense (and ability to rotate well) as well as his upside when it comes to shooting the basketball.
