If the Minnesota Timberwolves were to trade their star player, what could they possibly get in return?

The Minnesota Timberwolves hit the jackpot in the 2015 NBA Draft lottery when they won the first overall pick. They used that selection on now-franchise-player Karl-Anthony Towns. Earning two All-Star selections and one All-NBA honors so far in his career, Towns is undeniably one of the league’s best big men.

He can do any and everything offensively and is perhaps the best shooting center in the NBA. The Timberwolves have failed to maintain success with Towns at a consistent level, and while Gersson Rosas seemingly has a plan that he has been implementing since he started in Minnesota, it is always interesting to see what could happen if the Timberwolves decided to trade Towns in exchange for more assets.

It should be noted that moving Towns is not something that should be expected or wanted (at least any time soon). He is one of the most talented players in the league and should be treated as such. Towns could be the best player on a championship roster and trading him at just 24 years old would be a mistake.
