Karl-Anthony Towns hypothetical trades: Boston Celtics

The Minnesota Timberwolves getting two young, elite role players would be an excellent return in exchange for Towns, should he ever request a trade. Jaylen Brown is one of the best two-way wings in basketball. This past season for Boston, he averaged 20 points, six rebounds, and 1.1 steals per game on splits of 49/39/74. Brown has a high impact on both ends of the floor and is a valuable asset to any team.

Marcus Smart is player that, while he may not give much offensively, is one of, if not, THE best perimeter defenders in the NBA. He can contain any player one through four and does enough offensively to act as a facilitator and floor spacer. Smart rarely turns the ball over and is a great defensive playmaker. Also, a borderline lottery pick is included in the package.

Losing Towns would be painful. Having a trio of Smart/Russell/Brown might just balance it out, though.
