Pick Analysis. Point Guard. Iowa State. Tyrese Haliburton. player. Scouting Report. 6. 64

The Detroit Pistons need to blow it up. Currently, they have an interesting mix of players, but only 2-3 seem to have long-term roles on the Pistons moving forward: Luke Kennard, Christian Wood, and Sekou Doumbouya.

Tyrese Haliburton would give Detroit a reliable, smart guard that could pair well with Kennard due to his high passing ability as well as his defensive versatility. While Haliburton is not an exciting pick by any means, he has potential to become much better than he currently is depending on how good he becomes at creating his own shot.

Haliburton’s fluidity from the point guard spot is similar to that of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. He is a natural athlete that gets creative in how he scores, and it is difficult to see him failing at the NBA level.
