The Minnesota Timberwolves players in the Twin Cities are having fun this summer. Plus, Hall of Fame induction dates were announced.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have been left out of all the on-the-court action over the past few weeks, but there’s still plenty going on away from the hardwood.

First, you may recall that Kevin Garnett was inducted the Hall of Fame, way back before we knew that he was trying to buy the team and make (something resembling) amends with owner Glen Taylor. Now, we have dates for the reschedule of the induction ceremony.

Also, the Wolves players who are in the Twin Cities working out together at Mayo Clinic Square are making the most of the remaining weeks of summer.

Minnesota Timberwolves Roundup: Wolves on the lake, Hall of Fame

Minnesota Timberwolves legend Kevin Garnett was announced as a finalist for the 2020 for the 2020 Naismith Hall of Fame class earlier this year. Around that same time, more quotes about his ongoing feud with Taylor came to light, and it was apparent that The Big Ticket would have his green-and-white Boston Celtics jersey hanging in the rafters long before such a ceremony would take place at Target Center.

Then, a few weeks into the NBA’s COVID-19-induced hiatus, Garnett was officially announced as a Hall of Fame inductee, most notably alongside Tim Duncan and the late Kobe Bryant. The ceremony was supposed to be Aug. 28, but as things developed during the ongoing pandemic, it became more clear that it obviously wasn’t going to happen on time.

Now, we have a new range of dates: May 13 to 15, 2021.

Wolves fans now have nine months to prepare for the festivities. And who knows, it’s not crazy to think that Garnett could be part of the team’s ownership group by that time. Although here’s hoping he isn’t running the basketball operations department

Elsewhere, a group of Wolves players who are working out together at Mayo Clinic Square in Minneapolis during the team’s continued hiatus took the always-relevant advice of Prince and hit Lake Minnetonka.

And now, we will leave you with a photo of none other than Josh Okogie enjoying the Minnesota summer sun.

We’ll be back throughout the weekend with more coverage of the draft, potential trades, and pending free agents.

Remember, the draft lottery is next Thursday, Aug. 20, so there will be plenty to talk about related to October’s draft in short order…
