Minnesota Timberwolves: 5 potential trades for the No. 1 pick: Sacramento Kings

Sacramento is going through some changes, so it is hard to predict what their off-season will look like. The only guarantee on their roster in De’Aaron Fox.

With Bogdonovic heading to restricted free agency and Harrison Barnes’s unmovable contract on their books, the odd man out is Buddy Hield. If the team is able to flip him for a replacement, say Anthony Edwards, expect them to jump at the opportunity. (While the ESPN Trade Machine shoots this trade down, it can be commenced when the league year ends and the poison pill provision expires.)

Minnesota has never had an elite shooter like Buddy Hield. He brings something different to the team when he’s on the court, and would open up countless driving lanes for Russell and Towns. Having Hield allows Beasley to come off the bench and lead the second unit scoring, creating an even more well-rounded offensive attack.

Although Hield isn’t a great defender, with three potential 20-point-per-game scorers in the starting lineup it would be difficult for any team to slow them down.

The No. 12 pick won’t be a game-changing player, but there’s a long list of guys including Isaac Okoro, Patrick Williams, Devin Vassell, Saddiq Bey, Xavier Tillman, and so on that could be available and would be good fits for this team. Drafting at No. 12 gives the Timberwolves the option of using No. 17 in an additional trade if they want to limit the number of incoming rookies.
