The Minnesota Timberwolves have been awarded the first overall pick in the draft.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have a long way to go this offseason. Being awarded the first overall pick and a potentially franchise-changing player is certainly going to help, though. Despite this, the team still needs to find a way to drastically improve their bench this offseason.

Alongside Karl-Anthony Towns and D’Angelo Russell, the Timberwolves are set to make a playoff push next season – and things are starting to come together for Gersson Rosas.

Though it is never easy to anticipate just how good a draft class is going to be before we see anyone play at the NBA level, this year’s class is being hailed as especially weak for its lack of star power at the top of the draft. The fact that there is no consensus top pick just months away from the draft furthers this point.

Many have drawn comparisons to the 2013 draft which saw Anthony Bennett go first overall, followed by Victor Oladipo, Otto Porter, Cody Zeller, Alex Len, Nerlens Noel, and Ben McLemore. Still, though, looking back, that year produced Giannis Antetokounmpo, CJ McCollum, Rudy Gobert, along with numerous other high-level role players.

*NOTE: This NBA Mock Draft is being used to predict landing spots for certain players and by no means indicates that this is just a regular player-ranking (otherwise known as a big board).
