The Minnesota Timberwolves enter the 2020 offseason with loads of uncertainty. But can we still take a stab at their opening night lineup?

Given the endless possibilities involved with the 2020 NBA Draft and free agency, there are myriad lineup possibilities for the Minnesota Timberwolves next season.

The 2019-20 NBA season is finally approaching its conclusion as the conference finals matchups have now been set. As the offseason quickly approaches, the Wolves will be faced with an abundance of choices to make regarding how to improve their team.

After winning the 2020 NBA Draft Lottery and acquiring the first-overall pick, the Wolves’ front office saw their choice set increase, giving them the option to either pick any player they want in the draft or to use the pick as a trade asset.

Currently, there is a lot of uncertainty around the upcoming free agent market, the trade market, and the draft. A prime example of this is the ongoing situation surrounding Giannis Antetokounmpo‘s future with the Milwaukee Bucks – if Giannis is the first domino to fall by making a move to a new team, who knows what actions could be triggered afterward?

Because the future of the market for players is so uncertain today, it is difficult to predict how the Wolves will act, but it will nevertheless be interesting to see how the team chooses to address their many needs.

That being said, let’s look at some possible starting lineups for the Timberwolves for the 2020-2021 season that could occur based on ideas for activity in the draft, trade market, and free agent market.
