Minnesota Timberwolves: Trade with Nuggets for Nikola Jokic

3. Minnesota Timberwolves swap Karl-Anthony Towns for Jokic

Nikola Jokic is arguably the best center in the NBA and has led the Nuggets to a pair of impressive campaigns in a row.

Indeed, it would be a shock if Denver considered a straight-up swap, but there is still a general belief that Towns has a game with a higher upside and more versatility moving forward.

Jokic is a superior passer and the Nuggets use him to run the offense a majority of the time, but Towns is a far better shooter, a better rebounder, and better in the paint. He also has the tools to be a much better defender but hasn’t put it all together on that end of the floor.

If the Wolves wanted to make this happen, the offer would start here but likely progress to including a pick or two in addition to Towns in order to grease the wheels for a trade to be completed.

Still, out of these three trades, this one admittedly seems like the least likely to take place. But if Towns is unhappy and Denver is frustrated with another too-early exit from the playoffs, perhaps both sides would consider a change of scenery for their best players.

It’s not yet time for Wolves fans to be in panic mode related to Towns’ status with the team, but if things escalate over the next few months, it wouldn’t be a shock if Gersson Rosas makes a splash with a blockbuster trade.

With what we know about Rosas so far, such a mood is absolutely a possibility.
