Blockbuster trade targets for the Timberwolves: The Untouchables

LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Luka Doncic, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant

The Los Angeles Lakers just won the 17th NBA Championship in franchise history led by LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

James is the most powerful player in the history of the NBA, and there’s no possible way he would ever leave L.A. for Minnesota, even if the Lakers moved back to Minneapolis 60 years after they left.

Davis has said he is opting out of the last year of his contract but has every intention to re-sign with the Lakers. Davis is the heir apparent to LeBron and just spent the last three years trying to get out of a small market and will not be going back.

In just two years, Luka Doncic has cemented himself as one of the best players in the NBA. At only 21-years-old, Doncic is still on his rookie deal and is not going anywhere as long as Mark Cuban lives.

Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant are both coming off of serious injuries that cost them most or all of the 2019-20 season. Both superstars are 32 years old and have something to prove after winning two championships together with the Golden State Warriors.

The Warriors have the No. 2 pick in the draft, the Wolves’ top-three protected first-round pick next year, and return Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Andrew Wiggins to try to get back to prominence. Curry is still the focal point of the franchise and Bob Myers will likely not want to pair Towns with his former running mate Wiggins after seeing what little they accomplished in Minnesota.

Durant signed last year with the Brooklyn Nets to team up with Kyrie Irving. There’s no way the Nets will blow that pair up before they ever step on the court together.
