THE NEW YORK KNICKS

The New York Knicks have a new front office that is not attached to the picks of the past several years. Their most notable pick, RJ Barrett, would absolutely be worth trading for if the price was right. New York likely makes this move to secure LaMelo Ball, who has been linked with the team for months now.

The Minnesota Timberwolves, moving down seven spots while adding Barrett would be a win in every sense of the word. Granted, a risky move depending on how Barrett’s game progresses with actual spacing around him. This trade is essentially swapping Culver with Barrett for the price of trading back seven spots in the draft. In a year where you can still land a player that fits the overall archetype of the team with the 8th pick, that might just be worth the price, especially if Barrett comes even close to his potential.
