Timberwolves rumors are continuing to heat up, as once again they are linked to one of the several Orlando Magic forwards.

Minnesota Timberwolves rumors may be at an all-time high this week as they have the first overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft and seemingly are engaged in trade talks with various teams.

Darren Wolfson, a Timberwolves insider, said on his most recent podcast, that the Timberwolves may have interest in Magic forward Aaron Gordon.

"“The Wolves had trade interest in Aaron Gordon of Orlando back in February. My sense is that has not changed.”"

This Timberwolves rumor comes after Minnesota has been seemingly ousted from the Jrue Holiday sweepstakes. Darren Wolfson, on the same podcast, said the following.

"“(The Wolves) have kicked the tires on Jrue Holiday. The issue there is he’s a bit older, he can opt out after next season. All signs point to him opting out after next season.”"

It also seems as though the Hawks are at the front of the line in terms of making a move for Holiday – centered around a package involving the sixth overall pick.

Gordon is a stretch-power-forward and would fit well next to Karl-Anthony Towns on both sides of the ball. He is a good shooter/scorer and is capable of converting at all three levels, but also has improved as a perimeter defender over the course of his career, carrying 2.3 defensive win shares this past year alone.

Gordon also has slightly worse efficiency this past season in Orlando, carrying splits of 44/31/67, although his numbers from the two seasons prior project that last season may have been an outlier given how much his shot has progressed over the past several seasons.

dark. Next. Wolves: One trade with EVERY lottery team

The Timberwolves could put together an interesting package for Gordon – one that would presumably involve draft picks, Jarrett Culver, and salary filler.
