Scouting Report. Forward/Big. Serbia. 13. Pick Analysis. Aleksej Pokusevski. player. 69

For the past several mock drafts I consistently had Aaron Nesmith going to the Pelicans, and I think that there is still a legitimate possibility of that happening. That said, They also have another huge need in their front court. They need long-term spacing from the 4/5 spot, and Aleksej Pokusevski has one of the highest ceilings in this draft – something that David Griffin has seemingly targeted in the past.

Pokusevski is someone that brings a lot of shooting and mobility from a really unique frame at over seven-feet-tall. That skill set does not come available often – however it should be taken with a grain of salt given just how thin Pokusevski is – he needs to fill out his frame before he even has a chance to stand up against NBA level athletes.

The Pelicans frontcourt would be loaded with talent if they selected Pokusevski. They already have Zion Williamson and Jaxson Hayes (two top-10 picks from last years’ draft). New Orleans has several second-round picks later that can be used to fill out the rest of their roster, as well.
