Scouting Report. Onyeka Okongwu. player. Pick Analysis. Center. USC. 5. 156

Onyeka Okongwu’s stock is one that has not fluctuated as much as his peers in this draft class. He has consistently been mocked in the 3-8 range, and rightfully so. Okongwu is perhaps the best big in this draft class and fits the modern NBA as well as anyone else.

The Cleveland Cavaliers do not seem attached to Andre Drummond. In fact, it came out this past week that they may be looking to trade him after just one season. The Cavaliers need a long-term solution at center, and he very well could be that guy. Cleveland has selected a point guard with a top-10 selection in two consecutive years, so getting a player with a different skill set is also of the essence.

The Cavaliers are a team that has not had many rumors over the past few weeks but are in an interesting spot – being heavily linked to both Obi Toppin and Deni Avdija. However, with Okongwu falling to five, he may be a talent that the team did not expect to be present at the fifth overall pick. He would be an instant starter and someone that makes a high-level impact, particularly on defense.
