Minnesota Timberwolves: Projecting the new starting five
The Minnesota Timberwolves got much better as a whole following draft night.
The Minnesota Timberwolves were extremely active on draft night, trading for Ricky Rubio and selecting Anthony Edwards, Leandro Balmaro, and Jaden McDaniels.
Following the chaos that happened yesterday, the dust has settled on a team that needs to continue to add pieces in order to make a playoff push. The Minnesota Timberwolves finished 14th in the Western Conference last season, and things are not going to become any easier as the Suns, Trail Blazers, and Pelicans are all seemingly improving.
Gersson Rosas needs to find a way to continue to add various role players to solidify the rotation in the short term. Adding Ricky Rubio and Anthony Edwards was a great start, but the job is far from over.
The Minnesota Timberwolves have a bright future ahead of them. They also, however, need to show that this roster can have something of a success. Granted, D’Angelo Russell and Karl-Anthony Towns have only played a single game together, but progressing through the Western Conference is going to be a challenge in itself – especially with the Wolves starting at the bottom of the pecking order.
The starting lineup for the Timberwolves will be something of interest, especially with so many young players on the roster.
