Maxi Kleber

The Minnesota Timberwolves need two things in a power forward: floor spacing and solid defense. Maxi Kleber is a player that theoretically provides both of those things.

At 6-foot-10, 240 pounds, Kleber has the size to be a paint defender, someone that can guard inside and improve the overall floor of Minnesota’s defense. That said, he isn’t elite at it, he’s serviceable, but much better than anyone currently on the Timberwolves roster.

Kleber is a really effective shooter, though. Last year he shot 37-percent from three while taking twice as many three-point attempts as two-point attempts. He played over 25 minutes per game for a record-setting NBA offense led by Luka Doncic.

While the Mavericks might be hesitant to make a trade like the one above, Culver still has more potential than most young players on their roster (with the notable exception of Luka Doncic). With Kristaps Porzingis presumably playing more games this coming season, there is also going to be less time available to play Kleber.

The Timberwolves would be adding a starting-caliber forward/big that can step in right away and do two things the team really needs: shoot and defend. He would be another crucial role player in a Minnesota attempt to make the playoffs.
