Grading the Minnesota Timberwolves’ offseason moves
MALIK BEASLEY
The Minnesota Timberwolves re-signed their most pressing free agent, Malik Beasley, to a four-year, $60 million contract.
The deal came during a time which Beasley was going through the court process for allegedly pointing a gun at a family that was searching for a home in his neighborhood.
Putting that aside, the deal makes sense from a basketball perspective. Beasley averaged over 20 points per game during his 14-game stretch with the Wolves, and was even much better during his time with the Nuggets in games which he received over fifteen minutes of playtime.
Still, the dollar amount that Beasley received was surprising considering the circumstances which he’s facing – especially with the Timberwolves having a surplus of wings (Jarrett Culver, Josh Okogie, and Anthony Edwards).
Beasley will either be starting or come off the bench as the sixth man. Either way, he is bound to play a good amount of minutes for Minnesota each night, and should make his presence felt.
