Executive of the Year

DJ: Daryl Morey, Philadelphia 76ers

If the 76ers make the NBA Finals as I predict them to do, Daryl Morey should be looked at as the person that helped make that happen. He added Seth Curry and Tyrese Maxey (among other great draft picks). Morey also managed to flip Al Horford for Danny Green for only a single first-round pick.

JT: Gersson Rosas, Minnesota Timberwolves

Since his time with the Timberwolves Rosas has completely turned this organization for the better. The Timberwolves making a move at the deadline and returning to the playoffs will lock up his spot as Executive of the Year.

MO: Travis Schlenck, Atlanta Hawks

Think he made a lot of good moves this offseason to get help around Trae Young like Bogdan Bogdanovic and Danilo Gallinari. I think the Hawks can definitely make the playoffs in the East and Travis Schlenk would receive a lot of credit for this.

PF: Sean Marks, Brooklyn Nets

Again this prediction banks on the possibility of bringing in James Harden. Marks has already brought in huge free agent signings Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, and swinging a trade for Harden will likely vault Marks to the top of NBA GM power rankings. If the Nets compete for a championship, Marks is definitely deserving of the award.

PL: Travis Schlenk, Atlanta Hawks

The work that Schlenk has done already this offseason is reason enough for him to be named executive of the year. The Hawks only won 20 games last season and even though the future is bright with Trae Young, it isn’t the most exciting destination. Getting players like Bogdan Bogdanovic, Rajon Rondo, Danilo Gallinari, and draft pick Onyeka Okongwu is huge for the organization and Hawks fans have the team’s front office to thank.

Final count: Travis Schlenk 2, Daryl Morey 1, Gersson Rosas 1, Sean Marks 1
