Bold prediction #3 – The Minnesota Timberwolves lead the league in assists.

The Minnesota Timberwolves added one of the league’s best passers in Ricky Rubio, who was on the Suns this past season. Phoenix, though, led the league in assists this past season, and while, yes, they did replace Rubio with Chris Paul, his assist numbers have been trending down since he last played in Los Angeles.

Ricky Rubio isn’t the only high-level passer on the Timberwolves, though. The team also has D’Angelo Russell, who has averaged over six assists each of his past three seasons. Towns is also a high-level passer for the center position, averaging over more than four assist per game last season.

With the additions of score-first wings such as Anthony Edwards and Malik Beasley, the Timberwolves have a really good chance at finishing first in the NBA in assists – or at least getting as high as the top-5.
