The Minnesota Timberwolves play against the surging Wizards tonight at 6:00 p.m. CT in Washington D.C.

The Minnesota Timberwolves luck just gets worse by the day. Certainly they had to anticipate it happening, but Malik Beasley was suspended 12 games by the NBA for the events that took place this offseason. Thus, Minnesota will be without their best wing-scorer for a substantial period of time.

The Wizards, however, have won six of their last seven games, headed by All-Star starter Bradley Beal and 2017 MVP Russell Westbrook. While the talent surrounding those players is lackluster, they still have a possibility of making the playoffs in the Eastern Conference.

Minnesota Timberwolves odds at Washington Wizards

The Minnesota Timberwolves are 4-point underdogs against the Wizards, according to The Action Network, with 53 percent of bets being placed on Washington.

What to watch for in Minnesota Timberwolves at Washington Wizards

The Minnesota Timberwolves have had the worst luck of any NBA team in recent memory. D’Angelo Russell and Karl-Anthony Towns still have yet to play consistent minutes together – and 40 percent of players that would be in the starting lineup are out for a considerable amount of time. The Wolves’ record reflects that, too. Minnesota is 7-26 and have lost their last six games.

The Washington Wizards were just downright awful to start the season. They’ve drastically improved as the year as continued, but they still have the seventh-worst record in the NBA as of right now.

Per usual, the Timberwolves are going to need a masterclass of a performance from Karl-Anthony Towns in order to have a chance to win tonight. They’ll also need significant contributions from Anthony Edwards, in addition to the off-chance Ricky Rubio has an even-average performance in D.C.
