The Minnesota Timberwolves play against the young, competitive Charlotte Hornets tonight at 8:00 p.m. in Minneapolis.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have yet to win in the Chris Finch era after he was surprisingly hired last week. The team is last in the NBA in terms of win percentage and will be without two of their better players for the foreseeable future.

The Hornets, on the other hand, are 5-5 in their last ten games, with their last five games being a part of a 5-game road trip. Like Minnesota, this will be their last game before the All-Star break.

Minnesota Timberwolves odds vs. Charlotte Hornets

The Minnesota Timberwolves are 2.5-point underdogs to the Charlotte Hornets at home, with 56 percent of bets being places on the Timberwolves.

What to watch for in Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Charlotte Hornets

In their last matchup, 2020 top-3 selections Anthony Edwards and LaMelo Ball both played incredible games – and both will have a large role tonight.

In his last five games, LaMelo Ball is averaging 23 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists (3 TOV), and 2 steals per game on splits of 51/45/83. Ball is pretty clearly the favorite to win Rookie of the Year so far this season.

Anthony Edwards has also been very, very good, though. He has scored at least 20 points in each of his last three games, albeit with worse efficiency than Ball. He will have to continue his production in order for Minnesota to have a chance to win games with Malik Beasley out.

The Timberwolves are also likely going to have Gordon Hayward back from injury, as he has missed the past two games. Minnesota will need quality defense from both Vanderbilt and Okogie tonight.
