2021 NBA Mock Draft 1.0: Timberwolves keep pick, Magic load up

8.     Toronto Raptors – Keon Johnson, Wing, Tennessee

Keon Johnson is an excellent all-around player (minus the outside shooting) in addition to being a terrific athlete. The potential is there for him to be a great player long-term, and the Raptors look as though they might be entering into a rebuild soon.

With Kyle Lowry on an expiring contract (and regression from Pascal Siakam, too), the Raptors need to get more young talent in the building. Currently, their most promising asset is Gary Trent, a 22-year-old win that is set to become a restricted free agent this offseason. Getting a good, young college player helps the overall outlook of the franchise, regardless of which direction they decide to go.
