The Minnesota Timberwolves have had an undeniably rough season thus far. They’ve sustained injuries to their three best players (Towns, Russell, Beasley) while also firing their head coach mid-season.

Even alongside that, Minnesota has had to deal with multiple players underperforming relative to their expectations prior to the season beginning. This has been an unlucky season – even by Timberwolves standards, but ‘hopefully things will begin to change this offseason’ – a cliché uttered every year by Wolves fans everywhere.

Karl-Anthony Towns is averaging 26 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists under Chris Finch in 22 games. While Minnesota has only won six games in that time period, the progression has been clear, especially offensively. Additionally, Finch has only been coach for two of D’Angelo Russell’s games, and has had to deal with Beasley being constantly in and out of the lineup due to a suspension and recent injury.

Next season, this roster has the potential to look very different. There are several players that, in all likelihood, will not be on the roster.
