Last offseason, the Minnesota Timberwolves made the decision to select Anthony Edwards with the first overall selection in the 2020 NBA Draft, over fellow top-3 draft picks James Wiseman and LaMelo Ball.

Since then, the rookie of the year race has been tight – mostly between three players: the aforementioned Ball and Edwards, as well as Kings’ guard Tyrese Haliburton.

Pre-draft, there were two players seemingly in contention for the first overall pick. Of course, the Timberwolves were rumored to have preferred trading down, but the main two players considered were Edwards and Ball.

Roughly through one season, their games stack up against each other in an interesting manner, and the Timberwolves certainly didn’t ‘miss’ on their 2020 draft pick(s).
