Small Forward: Cade Cunningham

The Minnesota Timberwolves, in this scenario (although this is clearly being optimistic) retain their draft pick, and, in fact, win the lottery. And in doing so, they get the opportunity to select Oklahoma State’s Cade Cunningham, who is one of the best draft prospects Anthony Davis.

Cade Cunningham immediately offers a lot of versatility in what he can give you. He can be either a lead-guard or primary wing-player. Cunningham is extremely well-rounded in what he can do and does not have any major weaknesses in his game. He should easily be the selection if the Timberwolves are awarded the first overall pick.

There is an argument to be made here for Malik Beasley, who was having a wonderful season for the Timberwolves prior to his suspension and subsequent injury. That said, he would still be receiving 20-30 minutes a night as the 6th-man, and would slot in perfectly as a bucket-getter.
