NBA Mock Draft: Sacramento Kings take Moses Moody at #9

The Kings already have an exceptional guard rotation, and adding another player there might be on the table. There are also some bigs that haven’t been selected yet – all of which could be the pick here if Sacramento does not feel comfortable re-signing Richaun Holmes to his inevitably big contract.

That’s where Moses Moody comes in – an all-around, smart wing player that has a very high floor. Moody should be able to see minutes right away, and can play either the shooting guard or small forward spot. This pick would make Buddy Hield more expendable, although his shooting does provide value to the Kings on a consistent basis.

Moody is adding another player to a fun, consistent core. That said, don’t be shocked if the Kings look to buy a star that might be on the trade market. They have been in purgatory for a few years now, and unless they get a significant addition, they are going to remain here.

Moody is a great player and will provide value to any team he is selected by – but if the Kings want to actually make the playoffs – they should look to move this pick.

Again, though, Moody should not fall out of the top-10 picks – and if he does – it would be a crime. If the Kings stand pat and decide to pursue a prospect that can get on the floor right away in a position of need, Moody makes the most sense of anyone that is available.
